Reverse Advent Calendar 2023
Christmas can be a difficult time for many, especially for those living on a tight budget. With increased food and energy bills this winter, alongside the seasonal pressures, many will find themselves in a food crisis.
Together with Downton Baptist Church, we are once again running our Reverse Calendar initiative to support local families in need during this festive period. The Reverse advent calendar works differently to a traditional one by using the days in November to collect food and essential items in a bag or box that can be given to those who need it the most. There is no expectation to collect every day of the month. We are so grateful for any contribution, no matter how small.
If you would like to get involved, please drop off your collections at Downton Baptist Church from Monday 27th November – Friday 1st December, between 9am and 1pm.
On the Friday of collection week, we will be sorting the deliveries into boxes to share with families and we kindly invite anyone to help with this. There will be mince pies and a soup lunch provided! Any surplus food and goods collected will be donated to The Larder at Downton Baptist Church.
